Power Sources

Tiger-Vac offers both electrically operated and pneumatic (air operated) vacuum cleaner systems.

It's mainly the application for which the vacuum cleaner system will be used that will orient the choice between these two sources of energy.

Electrically operated vacuum cleaner systems can be driven by single phase or three phase motors.

Typically, a vacuum cleaner system powered by a three phase motor will be recommended for an application which requires the vacuum cleaner system to work in continuous duty.

Tiger-Vac's pneumatic (air operated) vacuum cleaner systems are usually used for applications where there is no source of electricity available to operate the vacuum cleaner system or where electrically operated devices cannot be used for safety reasons.

However, this information alone cannot be the only consideration when looking into the acquisition of a Tiger-Vac vacuum cleaner. Tiger-Vac's technical representatives will be pleased to help you define your needs and make the best choice in this matter.

Electric motors

Our Explosion Proof / Dust Ignition Proof series is certified for hazardous locations providing a high protection level such as EPL Da, Db and Ga, Gb or an enhanced protection level such as EPL Dc and Gc.  Certified for Division 1 and Division 2 CSA/UL.

Single phase:

  • Available in 120 and 240 volts
  • Available from 1 to 2 HP

Three phase / Regenerative Blowers:

  • Available in 230/460/575 volts
  • Available from 1 to 15 HP

Pneumatic (Air Operated):

Our Explosion Proof / Dust Ignition Proof series is certified by an Independantly Recognized Testing Laboratory.

Venturi systems:

Tiger-Vac uses a Venturi system to transform compressed air into powerful suction without the use of electricity. The Venturi system has no moving parts and generates no heat for trouble free operation without wear.

Single or twin Venturi equipped units are offered, with air jets ranging from 5 to 7 mm.
